WKU Softball Sets Program Record During Hilltopper Spring Fling

WKU Softball had an impressive opening day at the Hilltopper Spring Fling, outscoring opponents 28-5.

The Hilltoppers set a single-game program record with six home runs against IU Indy. This win also marked head coach Amy Tudor's 600th career victory.

In their first game, WKU beat Illinois 12-3. Annie White led with two home runs and three RBI. The second game saw WKU defeat IU Indy 16-2, highlighted by an 11-run inning and four home runs from various players.

WKU continues the tournament with two games on Saturday against Illinois and Ball State.

First Responders Rescue Dog from Sinkhole in Allen County

First responders successfully rescued a dog that fell into a sinkhole in Allen County. The Allen County Animal Shelter received a call about the incident, revealing the dog had fallen approximately 30 feet down.

Upon arriving, shelter staff called for assistance. Several community members including Jeff Young, Austin Carver, Jake Trade, Chris Shockley, Chris Blankenship, and Mike Cooksey helped lift the dog to safety. The dog was reportedly unharmed and walking around after the rescue. It is currently undergoing a check-up by a veterinarian.
