Bowling Green City Commission Passes Towing Pricing Ordinance
The Bowling Green City Commission has passed an ordinance that allows control over towing pricing. The new rule is aimed at regulating how much towing companies can charge.
Fountain Square Towing's owner, Slim Nash, publicly spoke against the ordinance. He described it as unfair and shared experiences of the difficulties faced by towing drivers, including hostile interactions from the public.
Business owner Heather Kessler voiced concerns about community fear regarding towing practices. She emphasized the importance of considering the atmosphere downtown and the impact on visitor experiences. After hearing from Nash, Kessler, and legal representatives, the commission unanimously voted in favor of the ordinance. Opposition groups plan to continue their fight against the ordinance.
