National Corvette Museum Expands with New Collections Building

The National Corvette Museum is expanding with a new 66,000-square-foot collections facility. This building will house hundreds of historic sports cars and artifacts related to Corvettes.

Construction is currently in progress, aiming to centralize the museum’s vehicle collection. The facility will also feature a state-of-the-art preservation garage and educational tours for the public. The building is expected to display around 120 vehicles upon opening, with potential for more once at full capacity.

Construction crews report steady progress, having completed siding on nearly three sides. They anticipate moving vehicles into the new facility by early 2027. To learn more about the project, you can visit the museum’s website.

Staying Safe During Severe Weather Season

As spring approaches, the risk for severe weather in Bowling Green increases. After the EF3 tornado in December 2021, local residents are taking weather preparedness seriously. Communities are adding tornado shelters and promoting weather safety initiatives.

The peak tornado season in Kentucky runs from April to June, though tornadoes can happen at any time. It's essential to have a safety plan ready, including knowing where to take shelter. Safest places include underground storm shelters, basements, or the most interior room of a home.

Residents are reminded to take all tornado warnings seriously, as conditions can change quickly. If driving, and safe to do so, exit the vehicle and find a ditch to shelter in. Avoid taking cover under overpasses, and have a phone or weather radio to receive alerts. Flooding is also a significant threat, and drivers should never cross flooded roadways.
